Chocolate Chip Cookies

Posted on Tue ,16/06/2009 by waremock

Ever had a warm, moist and chewy chocolate chip cookie? I could just see myself sitting back with a plate full of those cookies, and on the other hand a cold glass of milk. Every once in a while I ask my wife to bake me a few, but for one reason or another she never gets to. Sometimes when she does, they are not what I had envisioned in my mind. Other times we see a recipe online, and the picture looks so good that it makes you want to eat the screen. However when we try to duplicate that recipe it just does not come out right.

When I was 11 years old, someone gave me a taste of a cookie. It was the best tasting cookie I ever had in my life. A few months later someone else gave me the recipe on how to make those cookies. I have spent the last 25 years studying and preparing that recipe so that I could make the perfect cookie, just the same way I remember it when I first tasted it. During these 25 years I also had many other people try to show me the right way to make these cookies. However when I tasted theirs it tasted identically to the ones I made myself.

I Give Up!

I finally realized something, no matter how hard I try, I will never be able to make those cookies. Only the person that created the recipe is the only one that can make those cookies. I realized the most important thing, that person loves me more than anyone has or ever will. He has a never ending supply of those cookies for me to enjoy anytime I want to eat them. The only reason I was given the recipe was to show me how I was going to end up one day.

That cookie was Christ and the recipe is the Bible, one day I will be like that cookie.

Abortionist Killed.

Posted on Mon ,01/06/2009 by waremock

With his death Sunday, George Tiller became the eighth person and the fourth doctor killed in abortion-related attacks.

It was the first killing of an abortion provider in more than a decade. Before Sunday, the most recent killing of an abortion provider was on Oct. 23, 1998, when a sniper shot Barnett Slepian in his New York home.

In July 1994, John Britton and his security escort were killed while sitting in a car in the parking lot of a Pensacola, Fla., abortion clinic.

David Gunn was the first abortion doctor killed when he was shot March 10, 1993, while abortion opponents demonstrated outside his Pensacola clinic.

Headlines like these can leave us somewhat comfused. Deep inside we say to ourselves, yeah, justiced was served, and at the same time a human life was taken.

What is worst?

Here is an abortionist that has murdered countless human beings versus one man who killed the abortionist. What a dilemma?

Let’s make this a bit more diffcult, what if this was the 1940’s and you had a chance to take out Hitler, would you do it?

Is there a difference between what Hitler did and what this Abortionist did? Would you kill either to save countless innocent lives?

These are the questions, now you answer them!

Relational Christianity

Posted on Mon ,01/06/2009 by waremock

Relational Christianity means:

A personal friendship with Father, Son and Spirit. These are not just words to describe Christianity, but the very way he has called us to live.

Healthy relationships with other believers. Many today think fellowship is nothing more than attending the same service together, when it is meant to be so much more.

Friendships with people in the world, so that as God displays his character through us so they might come to know the love of God for themselves.

I will talk more about this on a later post.

Ten Shekels and a Shirt.

Posted on Tue ,26/05/2009 by waremock

And today I would like to speak to you from the theme, “Ten Shekels and a Shirt”, as we find it here in Judges Chapter 17. I’ll read the chapter and then I will read a portion also from the 18th to the 19th chapter as the background might be clear in our minds. “And there was a man of Mount Ephraim whose name was Micah.” A little background if you please. There was a situation where the Amorites refused to allow the people of the tribe of Dan to any access to Jerusalem and they crowded them up into Mount Ephraim. It is a sad thing when the people of God allow the world to crowd them into an awkward position. So they were unable to get to Jerusalem and we find, out of this comes the problems that we are about to see.

What does one TRILLION dollars look like?

Posted on Thu ,26/03/2009 by waremock

All this talk about “stimulus packages” and “bailouts”…

A billion dollars…

A hundred billion dollars…

Eight hundred billion dollars…

One TRILLION dollars…

What does that look like? I mean, these various numbers are tossed around like so many doggie treats. We’ll start with a $100 dollar bill. Currently the largest U.S. denomination in general circulation. Most everyone has seen them, slighty fewer have owned them. Guaranteed to make friends wherever they go.

$100

A packet of one hundred $100 bills is less than 1/2″ thick and contains $10,000. Fits in your pocket easily and is more than enough for week or two of shamefully decadent fun.

$10,000

Believe it or not, this next little pile is $1 million dollars (100 packets of $10,000). You could stuff that into a grocery bag and walk around with it.

$1,000,000 (one million dollars)

While a measly $1 million looked a little unimpressive, $100 million is a little more respectable. It fits neatly on a standard pallet…

$100,000,000 (one hundred million dollars)

And $1 BILLION dollars… now we’re really getting somewhere…

$1,000,000,000 (one billion dollars)

Next we’ll look at ONE TRILLION dollars. This is that number we’ve been hearing so much about. What is a trillion dollars? Well, it’s a million million. It’s a thousand billion. It’s a one followed by 12 zeros.

You ready for this?

It’s pretty surprising.

Go ahead…

Scroll down…Ladies and gentlemen… I give you $1 trillion dollars

$1,000,000,000,000 (one trillion dollars)

(And notice those pallets are double stacked.)

So the next time you hear someone toss around the phrase “trillion dollars”… that’s what they’re talking about.

Red Envelope Abortion Protest

Posted on Thu ,26/03/2009 by waremock

How much time does it take you to address an envelope? That’s all the time it will take you to make a big impression on the President concerning abortion. On March 31st, Americans all across the country who oppose abortion will be mailing red envelopes to President Obama.

Here is what I would like you to do:

Get a red envelope. You can buy them at Kinkos, or at party supply stores. On the front, address it to:

President Barack Hussein Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W.
Washington , D.C. 20500

On the back, write the following message.

This envelope represents one child who died in abortion. It is empty because that life was unable to offer anything to the world. Responsibility begins with conception.

Put it in the mail on March 31st, and send it. Then send this website to every one of your friends who you think would send one too. I wish we could send 50 million red envelopes, one for every child who died before having a a chance to live. Maybe it will change the heart of the president.

Introducing: The Beast

Posted on Tue ,20/01/2009 by waremock

There are limos and there are limos and then there is the presidential limo (I should make that Presidential). This is the one that will carry the new president and, believe me, it is not like other limos.

Known in the Secret Service as “The Beast,” the customized Cadillac limousine is thought to be built on General Motors’ hefty 2500-series truck chassis. The Secret Service, of course, does not give you a spec sheet or much other information on The Beast, other than to say a new one is being put in service for Barack Obama.

There are some glimmers of information, however, in a New York Times piece by Gregg D. Merksamer, who says he has spent 30 years studying and writing about presidential cars, part of a class called “professional cars,” which also includes hearses and ambulances. Suffice to say that the limo is essentially a gussied-up and lavishly comfortable armored personnel carrier with, it is rumored, five-inch-thick windows and armor plating throughout.
